I have 2 quadrafire classic bay pellet stove. The free standing made in America works very well at 3500 ft elevation, The other, a Classic Bay 1200 insert is installed in a masonry fireplace at 7000 ft elevation. This stove is made n China. It is noisy, uses 3 times the pellets as the free standing stove. It must operate at medium to high to heat a 1500ft frame house. The local dealer in Flagstaff Arizona has presented a number of unacceptable reasons and no fix including a 4 inch dia. chimney Bottom line: Its noisy, dirty, does not produce advertised heat.

it does jam up. i thought i was getting all the extra dust out by vacuuming the hopper when it was empty at the bottom, but i guess my shop vac doesnt do the job. its all jammed up with dust, and after 6 hours of trying to un jam it, i am finally dishin out the money for the professionals to unjam it. ive only used 1 1/2 tons of the lowest ash content possible. you can barely get your hands in there to see if what the problem is.

The very first day I loaded pellets in my new Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200 Pellet Stove I seen all the dust and sawdust come out of the bag and I knew I needed to do something to clean the pellets. I found a corn and pellet cleaner on ebay and bought it. I clean all my pellets and the hopper is as clean as a whistle. Solve all your trouble and try it. You'll be glad you did.
